Malcolm Parry has freelanced extensively as a writer and photographer for regional and national newspapers and periodicals in Canada, and was founding editor and publisher of important Vancouver periodicals such as B.C. Affairs, B.C. Industry Reports and later Vancouver Magazine. He has been a columnist for the Vancouver Sun since 1991 and has photographed for publications and some 1200 individuals. Although perhaps best known as a columnist about Vancouver’s social life, Parry has been photographing various subjects throughout his work as a journalist. With a keen eye, Parry has often captured images that speak to the social contradictions of contemporary life.
