Dick Oulton is a well-known Vancouver commercial photographer who opened his business in the late 1940’s. In the studio he shot formal portraits as well as personal work such as still lives and tableaux for stereographs. His commercial assignments work involved documenting a wide range of activities including weddings, interior design, nightclubs, wrestling matches, hairdressing championships, promotions and the hydroelectric facility in Kitimat. His photographs were included in the PHG exhibition The Just Past of Photography in Vancouver.
